Six distinct coves, each with unique character. From family-friendly sandy shores to secluded snorkeling spots and cliff-diving adventures. All beaches are within walking distance of Astacos Studios.
Paleokastritsa is famous for its collection of six named beaches, each nestled in its own protected cove. The water clarity here is exceptional across all beaches, thanks to the sheltered bays and rocky coastline that filters and circulates the Ionian Sea.
Some beaches have tavernas, sunbeds, and boat rentals. Others require a short walk and reward you with quieter, more secluded settings. All six are swimmable and offer excellent snorkeling opportunities, with visible fish and rock formations just offshore.
Staying at Astacos Studios puts you within easy walking distance of all six beaches. The Main Beach is steps away, Ampelaki is 70 meters, and even the furthest beach (Agios Petros) is only a 15-minute walk along scenic coastal paths.
All Six Beaches
Ampelaki Beach
Family-friendly sandy beach with shallow entry. Sunbeds and gentle waves make it ideal for children.
Bring your own mask and snorkel for the best experience. You can also buy equipment at the local tourist shops. The rocky areas near Agios Spyridon and Ampelaki beach offer the most fish and sea life.
Best Times to Visit
Morning (8-11 am) offers the calmest water and fewer crowds. Late afternoon (6-8 pm) brings golden light perfect for photos. Midday can be busy at Main Beach, but other coves remain quieter.
Beach Access
Most beaches can be easily accessed by paved paths or short walks. Wear water shoes for pebble beaches. Ask at Astacos Studios for the best route to each beach.
